Using an IBAN for International Payments

An IBAN (International Bank Account Number) is commonly required in Europe for everyday services such as setting up mobile phone plans, utilities, or apps used for VAT tax reimbursements. If you need an IBAN while living in or traveling through Europe, we can help you obtain one through our partner, Wise.

How to Set Up an IBAN Through Wise

You can easily set up an IBAN for international payments using our partner, Wise. If you already have an Andrews Federal Digital Banking account, you can use the email associated with your Digital Banking account to make it easy to set up your Wise account at www.wise.com.

Steps to Obtain Your IBAN

Go to www.wise.com
- If you have a Digital Banking account and this is your first time logging into Wise.com, select Forgot Password to establish a password.
- If you do not have a Digital Banking account, select Register to establish a Wise account.
Log into your Wise account, then select “add a currency to your account” you want an IBAN for (such as Euro or British Pounds) in your Wise account.
Add funds to that currency account using any funding method available through Wise.
- You may also link and use your Andrews Federal account. An Andrews Federal member representative can guide you through the process if needed.
Once the funds arrive in your Wise account, Wise will automatically issue your IBAN.
You can view your new IBAN directly by selecting that currency within the Wise app.

Can Andrews Federal issue me an IBAN?

IBANs are issued through Wise, our partner for international transfers. However, if you need assistance with the process of setting up your IBAN, our overseas branch teams can walk you through the process.

Is it safe to share my IBAN with someone?

You can share your IBAN when someone needs to send you money. An IBAN does not allow withdrawals or access to your account. It only directs incoming transfers.

Can I have more than one IBAN?

You can have multiple IBANs from different banks or different countries. If you set up an IBAN through Wise, they may offer you the opportunity to set up more than one depending on the types of accounts you have and the different currencies you use.
