Summer Camp Awards Program

Each year, Andrews Federal Credit Union helps young learners make the most of their summer through our Summer Camp Awards Program. These awards are designed to encourage exploration, creativity, and personal growth by supporting participation in educational or skill-building camps. A total of ten (10) children between the ages of 6 and 16 will win a Summer Camp Award of $500.

Recipients are selected based on their interests, goals, and enthusiasm for learning. Each award provides $500 to help cover camp registration or related expenses, giving students the opportunity to discover new passions and expand their horizons.

The application process is open from April 1, 2026 through May 4, 2026.

Your child must be enrolled in a summer camp or enrichment program for Summer 2026.
Must provide a copy of the summer camp enrollment or payment confirmation.
Must provide a high-resolution photo of your child.
Previous Summer Camp Award winners are not eligible to apply.
Limit one Summer Camp Award per household.

Eligibility

Your child must be a member of Andrews Federal Credit Union or have an immediate family member who is a member of Andrews Federal Credit Union.
The Summer Camp Awards Program is not open to employees and board members of Andrews Federal Credit Union or their families.

Winners

Summer Camp Award winners will be notified in spring 2026.
If we cannot get in touch with you, your family’s rights to the award money will be forfeited.
Only winners will be contacted. Applicants will not be contacted after application submission.
Winners may be asked to accept their reward in-person at our Annual Meeting on June 22, 2026 if you live within 25 miles of our headquarters location in Suitland, Maryland. Photographs will be taken of award winners and their families. Business attire requested.

Submission Guidelines

Age 6 to 9
- Drawing: Your child can create a drawing that focuses on what they want to do this summer.
Age 10 to 13
- Drawing: Your child can create a drawing highlighting their plans and goals this summer. The artwork should be completed by the child.
- Essay: Your child can submit an essay of 150 words or less, highlighting their plans and goals for the summer.
Age 14 to 16
- Drawing: Your child can create a drawing highlighting their plans and goals this summer. The artwork should be completed by the child.
- Essay: Your child can submit an essay between 150 and 500 words, highlighting their plans and goals for the summer.

How to Enter the Summer Camp Award Program

Choose the right category for your age group, then start planning and drawing or writing!

Ages 6 to 9

Create a drawing focusing on what you want to do this summer.

Ages 10 to 13

Create a drawing or write an essay (150 words or less) about summer plans/goals.

Age 14 to 16

Create a drawing or write an essay (150 to 500 words) highlighting summer plans/goals.

College Scholarships

In 2026, Andrews Federal will award five $5,000 scholarships to help rising high school seniors achieve their educational goals and work toward a bright future.

Membership

Becoming a member is now easier, and as quick as 5 minutes.

The applicant must be a member, or a family member of an Andrews Federal member, either of which must be in good standing as of May 4, 2026. The applicant must be enrolled in a summer camp or enrichment program for Summer 2026. The Summer Camp Awards Program is not open to Andrews Federal Credit Union employees and Board Members or their families. Incomplete applications will not be considered for eligibility. Applications falsiﬁed by a parent will be disqualiﬁed. Incomplete applications and applications created by AI software will not be considered for eligibility. Previous winners are not eligible for this year’s Summer Camp Awards program. Limit one Summer Camp Award per household. This award is reported to the Internal Revenue Service as income of the recipient. Consult your tax advisor about your speciﬁc tax situation.

If we are unable to contact you, your family’s eligibility to receive the award funds will be forfeited. Only selected recipients will be notified; applicants will not receive further communication after submitting their application.

Membership eligibility required. Our ﬁeld of membership includes U.S. Active Duty or Retired Military personnel (or their spouses, dependents or dependent survivors) of Joint Base Andrews, Joint Base McGuire and military installations in central Germany, Belgium, and The Netherlands; as well as over 200 employer groups throughout Maryland, Virginia and New Jersey. We also have nationwide membership eligibility through the American Consumer Council and anyone who lives, works, attends school or worships in Washington, D.C.
