Andrews Federal Credit Union Donates to Joint Base Andrews Fisher House
Suitland, Maryland (January 22, 2020): Andrews Federal Credit Union Fashion Show raised $5,000 for the Joint Base Fisher House. The Fisher House Foundation builds and provides homes for military and veteran families to stay for free while a loved one is hospitalized. The program has saved military families millions of dollars in lodging and transportation costs.
Andrews Federal raised funds as a result of the Third Annual Hideous Holiday Fashion Show. The show has become an Andrews Federal tradition, during which employees dress from head to toe in holiday attire as they strut down a runway. This year, the winner was dressed as an Elf on the Shelf, complete with a fireplace. Other costumes featured a jack-in-the-box, a human Christmas tree, and a tree made of red solo cups. Viewers were able to watch the show live on the Andrews Federal Facebook page. For every viewer, Andrews Federal generously donated $1; a total of $5,000 was raised. The funds will be donated to the Joint Base Fisher House.
“It’s wonderful to see Team Andrews contributing to the Fisher House mission,” said Jim Hayes, President/CEO, Andrews Federal. “We can never do enough for our military families. They deserve the world.”
