Andrews Federal Credit Union employees recently raised awareness and funds for breast cancer research during the credit union’s pink out” fundraising drive. The credit union combined employee contributions along with a corporate gift to support the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
Along with the fundraising efforts, employees were encouraged to wear pink to work. Andrews Federal also shared useful information about breast cancer awareness and resources via its social media platforms.
“One in eight women will be affected by breast cancer in their lifetime,” said Damita Robinson, Chief Operating Officer at Andrews Federal Credit Union. “Through our pink out day, we sought to raise awareness among our members and our employees about the importance of early detection, as well as to raise funds that can help find a cure for this disease that affects far too many in our communities. We appreciate the generosity and activism of our employees in making this awareness event a success.”
