ANDREWS FEDERAL CREDIT UNION EMPLOYEES RAISE $2,500 DURING BREAST CANCER AWARENESS PINK OUT
Andrews Federal Credit Union employees recently held a one-day “pink out” fundraising drive for breast cancer research. Employee contributions were matched by the Andrews Shares Foundation, and the final donation to the Susan G. Komen Foundation totaled $2,500.
Along with the fundraising efforts, employees were encouraged to wear pink to work. At the corporate headquarters and at branches throughout Andrews Federal’s stateside and European networks, employees decorated their work locations with pink and shared useful information about breast cancer screenings. The Andrews Federal social media networks were similarly “pinked out” with multimedia content.
“Every October, people around the world wear pink and unite through events that bring awareness to breast cancer,” said Damita Robinson, Chief Operations Officer at Andrews Federal Credit Union. “Holding the pink out day was our way of coming together to raise awareness, garner support and push for a cure to this deadly disease. We are proud of our dedicated employees and the impact they are making through their generous contributions.”
