Summer camp award applications must be submitted by Sunday, March 31, 2024. A total of 10 children between the ages of 6 and 16 will win a summer camp award of $500.
Age 6 to 9

Drawing: Your child should create a drawing that focuses on what they want to do this summer. The artwork should be completed by the child. We want to see their creativity shine through!
Age 10 to 13
Choose drawing or essay-writing
- Drawing: Your child can create a drawing highlighting their plans and goals this summer. The artwork should be completed by the child. We want to see their creativity shine through!
- Essay: Your child can submit an essay of 150 words or less, highlighting their plans and goals for the summer.
Age 14 to 16
Choose drawing or essay-writing
- Drawing: Your child can create a drawing highlighting their plans and goals this summer. The artwork should be completed by the child. We want to see their creativity shine through!
- Essay: Your child can submit an essay between 150 and 500 words, highlighting their plans and goals for the summer.
Requirements
- Your child must be enrolled in a summer camp or enrichment program for Summer 2024.
- Must provide a copy of the summer camp enrollment or payment confirmation.
- Must provide a photo of your child. Preferably high-resolution in the format JPG or PNG.
- Previous Summer Camp Award winners are not eligible to apply.
- Limit one Summer Camp Award per household.
Eligibility
- Your child must be a member of Andrews Federal Credit Union or have an immediate family member who is a member of Andrews Federal Credit Union.
- The Summer Camp Awards Program is not open to employees and board members of Andrews Federal Credit Union or their families.
Categories
- The Summer Camp Awards Program has two categories: a General Category and an Additional Needs Category.
- The Additional Needs Category encourages participants (children or teenagers) with physical or intellectual disabilities to submit entries in free expression without the restriction of the competition’s official theme if they wish.
- The Additional Needs Category applicants will be judged separately based upon their entry, which may include drawings, essays, or a photographed or videoed demonstration of the applicant performing a life skill or a portrayal of what they expect to learn at camp.
Winners
- Summer Camp Award winners will be notified by May 3, 2024.
- If we cannot get in touch with you, your family’s rights to the award money will be forfeited.
- Only winners will be contacted. Applicants will not be contacted after application submission.
- Winners may be asked to accept their reward in-person at our Annual Meeting in June 2024 if you live within 25 miles of our headquarters location in Suitland, Maryland. Photographs will be taken of award winners and their families. Business attire requested.
