  • There are no fees to send or receive money in Digital Banking
  • Money moves directly to their account in minutes
  • You only need their U.S. mobile number or email address - your bank information remains private

Please note, Zelle is intended for sending money to family, friends, and people you are familiar with. We recommend that you not use Zelle to send money to anyone you don't know

ONLY SEND MONEY TO FRIENDS, FAMILY AND OTHERS YOU TRUST

It's important that you know and trust those you send money to

Because once you authorize a payment to be sent, you can't cancel it if the recipient is already enrolled in Zelle®. Why? Because money moves quickly - directly into the recipient's bank account typically within minutes1.

If you don’t know the person, or aren’t sure you will get what you paid for (for example, items bought from an online bidding or sales site), we recommend you do not use Zelle® for those types of transactions. Those transactions are potentially high risk (just like sending cash to a person you don’t know is high risk). Andrews Federal nor Zelle® offer a protection program for any authorized payments made with Zelle® – for example, if you do not receive the item, or the item is not as described or as you expected.

Zelle® FAQs

Zelle® allows you to send money to friends, family and others you trust*

Zelle® is a fast, safe and easy way to send money directly between almost any bank account in the U.S., typically within minutes*. With just an email address or U.S. mobile phone number, you can send money to people you trust, regardless of where they bank*.

When you enroll with Zelle®, your name, the name of your bank or credit union and the email address or U.S. mobile number you used to enroll is shared with Zelle® (no sensitive account details – those stay with Andrews Federal). When someone sends money to your enrolled email address or U.S. mobile number, Zelle® looks up the email address or mobile number in its “directory” and notifies Andrews Federal of the incoming payment. Andrews Federal then directs the payment into your account, all while keeping your sensitive account details private.

Zelle® allows you to send money to friends, family and others you trust* even if they have a different bank or credit union. You can send money directly from your Andrews Federal Digital Banking. Since money is sent directly from your Andrews Federal account to another person’s bank account within minutes*, it’s important to only send money to people you trust, and always ensure you’ve used the correct email address or U.S. mobile number.

Neither Andrews Federal nor Zelle® offers a protection program for any authorized payments made with Zelle® – for example, if you do not receive the item you paid for or the item is not as described or as you expected.

Andrews Federal does not charge any fees* to use Zelle® with your personal checking account.

Enroll with Zelle® in Andrews Federal mobile banking app. Open your app, select “Send Money with Zelle®” and simply follow the steps as prompted to enroll.

To send money using Zelle®, simply select your recipient from your mobile device’s contacts (or add your trusted recipient’s email address or U.S. mobile phone number), add the amount you’d like to send, review, then hit “confirm.” In most cases, the money is available in minutes*.

To receive money, just share your email address or U.S. mobile phone number with a friend and ask them to send you money with Zelle®. You’ll receive a payment notification once the money has been sent. If you’ve already enrolled your email address or U.S. mobile phone number, then you won’t need to take any further action and the money will go directly into your Andrews Federal account.

If you send money to someone who isn’t enrolled with Zelle®, they will receive a notification prompting them to enroll with Zelle®. After enrollment, the money will move directly into your recipient's account, typically within minutes*.

If your payment is still pending, we recommend confirming that the person you sent money to has enrolled with Zelle® and that you entered the correct email address or U.S. mobile number.

If you’re waiting to receive money, you should first check to see if you received a payment notification via email or text message, if you haven’t received a payment notification, then follow-up with the sender. Double check the email address or U.S. mobile number where you received the payment notification is the one you enrolled in Zelle® with.

Zelle® within the Andrews Federal mobile app features all the same security standards you’ve come to expect from Andrews Federal, while allowing you the convenience of sending money from your phone.

With Zelle®, you can send or receive money without revealing your sensitive financial account information to other people.

Zelle® can minimize many of the worries you may have when carrying cash, writing checks or receiving checks. The financial institution provides electronic notification to enrolled members of a payment and eliminates the possibility of your check getting lost or stolen in the mail.

Zelle® is a great way to send money to family, friends, and others you trust such as your personal trainer, babysitter or a neighbor*.
